The 5 Elements
Each element has its own strength, but it is when they connect that true harmony is born.
Each of them has a color, shape, and characteristic within the spaces we inhabit. Let's identify them:
FIRE :
Energy : Passion, visibility, drive, explosion.
Color : Red, orange.
Shape : Triangular, pointed, pyramidal, angular and sharp shapes, such as high-voltage towers or roofs.
Present in the home as : fireplaces, candles, warm lighting, sloping ceilings, cooking, heating. Animals and people, paintings of animals, sunsets, or wherever the sun appears, or the color red.
Sensation it provides : Enthusiasm, action, dynamism, joy.
LAND :
Energy : Stability, containment, nutrition.
Color : Yellow, beige, terracotta.
Shape : Square, flat.
Present in the home as : Ceramics, stones, load-bearing walls.
Sensation it provides : Security, calm, grounding, balance.
METAL:
Energy : Precision, order, clarity.
Color : Grey, Gold, Silver, White.
Shape : Oval, circular, spherical, ovoid, domes, arches.
Present in the home as : Metal objects, electrical and telephone installations, quartz, precious stones, minerals.
Sensation it provides : Clarity, intelligence, ability to withstand the greatest pressure, cleanliness, elegance
WATER:
Energy : Intuition, flow, flexibility, knowledge.
Color : Black, Dark Blue.
Shape : Sinuous, waves, ripples
Present in the home as : Pipes, fountains, mirrors, crystals, glass, aquariums.
Sensation it provides : Clarity, intelligence, ability to withstand the greatest pressure, cleanliness, elegance
WOOD :
Energy : Growth, expansion, vitality, empathy, generosity.
Color : Greens, turquoises, light blues.
Shape : Cylindrical, vertical, rectangular, pillars.
Present in the home as : columns, plants, natural wood furniture, books.
Sensation it provides : Dynamism, progress, creativity.

There are several cycles of the elements, but here we are going to use basically two:

Nutrient or growth cycle . The sequence of elements promotes the
Birth of another element. It goes clockwise in the diagram below. It would be like the Mother-Son/Daughter relationship. When this happens, the spaces harmonize toward continuous growth. - Reduction Cycle : It wears down the element we need to control, but without causing excessive damage. It's like a son/daughter-mother relationship.

Conclusion:
Understanding the five elements of Feng Shui—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—means understanding the invisible language that shapes harmony in our spaces. Each element represents a vital energy that, when balanced, enhances our well-being, our relationships, and our opportunities.
