How to arrange your room so that energy flows better (Easy Feng Shui I)
How to arrange your room for better energy flow (Easy Feng Shui)
Your room is not just the place where you sleep: it's your energy recharging space.
When there's chaos outside, there's usually noise inside. That's why tidying your room according to simple Feng Shui principles can help you feel calmer, clearer, and more restful.
In this guide you will find a simple, non-perfectionist and stress-free way to organize your room so that energy flows better.
Why the order of your room affects your energy
Feng Shui provides your rooms with:
- Your rest (whether at night or during the day with visual order)
- Clarity of thought and the search for clearer solutions to challenges
- Your emotional balance, feeling lighter emotions
Clutter creates “visual noise” and can:
- Increase the feeling of anxiety
- Creating that "mental fog"
- Your emotional balance, feeling denser emotions
The good news: you don't need a complete renovation . With small steps, your room can start supporting you instead of draining you.
Before tidying your room: define your intention
Before you start moving things, take a moment. Close your eyes and determine your goal. Mentally repeat your intention, for example: "I am tidying this space to bring more calm, love, and clarity into my life."
That intention gives direction to your energy. It's not just about "cleaning," it's about aligning your space with how you want to feel .
Step-by-step method to tidy your room without stress
Step 1 – Choose a single area of the room
Instead of thinking "I have to organize EVERYTHING", start with just one area, depending on the room you are going to tackle:
- Nightstand
- Cupboard
- Desk
- Bookshop
- Toy Organizer Baskets
- Chair full of clothes
- Cupboards
- Washing machine area
- Bathroom storage, etc.
The important thing is not perfection, but creating a sense of progress . Every area you organize is a piece of energy you release.

Step 2 – Apply the 3-pile rule
Take what's in that area and classify it into three groups:
- It stays : I use it, I need it, I love it
- Leave the room : to donate, give away, sell (say goodbye affectionately)
- It goes in the trash : broken, expired, impossible to recover, or unsuitable for donation
If you're unsure about an object, leave it where you think you'll want it, and when everything is in place, look again and see how you feel. Trust your instincts.
Step 3 – Give everything a clear place (so the mess doesn't come back tomorrow)
In Feng Shui, energy flows better when everything has its "place," and in conscious order there is a key idea:
If something doesn't have a fixed place, it ends up living anywhere.
For this part we could do it in the following way, using a bedroom as an example:
- Do I use it every day? Then it should be in sight or within easy reach .
- I use it occasionally, but does it add value? It can be stored in drawers, boxes, or baskets , accessible but not in the way.
- Is it something special, symbolic, or spiritual? It deserves a beautiful place. Choose a spot in your shared home where you think you'll see it, creating a positive symbolic connection in your mind.
Containers and organizers that keep things tidy almost on their own
One of the keys to keeping your room from becoming chaotic again after two days is having good physical allies : containers and organizers that do the work for you. You don't need to buy half the store of organizers; with a few well-chosen pieces, you can significantly change the energy of the space. But we'll explore that in next week's article.

Closing ritual to cleanse the energy of the room
- Clean the room with a damp cloth for dusting (you can put a few drops on the cloth of a scent you like or that you have at home: lavender, jasmine or the product you like best.
- Open the window to refresh the air and renew its "Chi" or energy; if it's an interior room, buy a dehumidifier to keep it free of dampness.
- Clean the floor by adding a few grains of coarse salt to the soapy water in the bucket and let it dry.
- Acknowledge your effort, thank your space for supporting you, and say mentally: "Today I choose more order, more calm, and more love for myself."

If you like, you can light sandalwood incense; it harmonizes the invisible world and cleanses spaces of low frequencies, just like citrus fruits.
If you already have a piece of spiritual or Feng Shui art in your room, perfect! Take a moment to look at it and let it become a visual anchor: every time you see it, your body remembers that this is a place of rest and protection. If you don't have one, I invite you to browse our products.
In this article you have taken the first step: look at your room from a place of calm, organize by zones and close with a small energy ritual.
In the second part, I'll tell you what types of boxes, baskets, and organizers can help you maintain this order almost automatically, and how to choose them so that they complement the energy of your home and don't overload it.
